Objective 1

Void

Riley icon test copy.png

This is a self-portrait of myself that is created through art mediums such as charcoal, pastels, water color pencils, watercolor, and ink. Void represents a narrative of myself when I feel numb and depressed through a doll narrative.

Festering Umbra is a canvas painting done in Oil Painting. I always been fascinated with shadows and black blobs but as I continued the painting it turned into a festering wound.

I'm the monster under your bed

Riley icon test copy.png

" I'm the monster under your bed" is about how our worst enemy is ourselves. I can be hard on myself and pulls me back from enjoying life but it's important to not let that monster take over you. The art medium that was used to create this piece is watercolor, watercolor pencils, and ink.

The Drag

Riley icon test copy.png

"The Drag" is a personal art piece of mine that deals with an event in my life dealing with bad friendships. "The Drag" is a reminder to myself to not let anyone take advantage of me. The art medium that was used to create this piece is watercolor, water color pencils, ink and copic markers.

You Are the Moon

Riley icon test copy.png

This art piece is inspired by a song called You Are the Moon by The Hush Sound. The song is about how the moon only sees darkness and shadows and it feels alone. The moon doesn't realize how beautiful they are and necessary they are to the earth. However towards the end of the song, the singer says to the moon she intends to hold a mirror up to the moon, so it can see its beauty every moment that it rises.

In my interpretation the "cat boy" shadow comes to life to comfort him and reminds him how beautiful he is.

Hiatus

Riley icon test copy.png

This was an art request from someone I know and they wanted me to draw a story idea. A mysterious being called Hiatus communicates to a young witch and guides them through their life adventures. Hiatus is rather dark though and the young witch questions his actions but continues to support him because the witch is in love with Hiatus.

Still Life

This is a still-life drawing of an animal skull but added my own creative touches by adding shadow effects to make it spooky.

Wicked

Riley icon test copy.png

An art piece where you pick one word and build a design that is associated with its meaning. Wicked is drawn out in black sharpie and always loved witches and Halloween so I picked wicked.

Ressurection

Resurrection

A mixed medium art piece where I drew and colored the characters separately and glued them onto canvas and I painted the background with acrylic. This is Patricia Alcott reviving her love Corbin Corvus from the dead by using a voodoo doll.

Agatha the Zombie

This is where I started to create Halloween theme characters of my own. I always wanted to create a cute zombie girl that is edgy and then Agatha is born. She can manipulate her body parts into all kinds of weapons. This is done in watercolor, copic markers, acrylic and sharpie.
